IBEW 968 Solar Day Generates Big Interest!
The IBEW 968 Solar Day was held on Saturday September 27, 2008 and created a buzz around the area! Over 100 area residents stopped by to ask questions about alternative energy, our apprenticeship program, and the history of Local Union 968. Volunteers and visitors were also treated to hot dogs and burgers prepared by our own ray of sunshine, Lorne Mills. Our local represented itself in a friendly and professional manner which will not soon be forgotten!
We had several crews working on various segments of the project. One crew mounted the solar panels in a little over 3 hours, while a second crew installed the necessary conduit runs, and a third group fabricated the inverter rack.
